The Redwolves travelled to Stuttgart for Round 11 accompanied by the Redbacks Women. 2 Dresden players joined 7 Frankfurt players and 2 loan players from Stuttgart to play 9 vs 9 in long format of 4 quarters. Before the game, Captain Andrew ran through the game plan and tactics. After watching the women’s game and a thorough warm-up, the men were ready to begin.
The first quarter and the increasingly warm weather showed some cracks in the team and their fitness. Stuttgart were able to take an early lead. The 2nd quarter allowed for a goal from Andrew however Stuttgart were able to increase their lead significantly. At the half time break, the previous 2 quarters were discussed, as well as what could be done better.
The third quarter began with more goals from Stuttgart despite great work in the centre and ruck. Another goal from the Redwolves, however, increase the motivation. Unfortunately this was not enough and by the end of the 3rd Quarter, the Redwolves’ score was far behind. Stuttgart’s continued success in the 4th quarter ended the match with a final score of 154-14.
Despite the loss, it was a fun to end the season with a joint game day with the women. Next year the Redwolves plan to come back bigger and better.
